St. Cloud, MN Baby Photographer | Everly’s 6 Month Milestone Session

Okay, can we just draw some attention to the cheeks and the dimples going on here? Cutest thing ever! It was so much fun to do Everly’s 6 month milestone session with her and her parents. She was such a happy baby!

Loved the cute outfits mom and dad picked out—including a black one, which we hardly ever get to do for baby girls! This session took place in the summer, so it seemed fitting to use lots of plants and flowers in our setups. Bowls and swings are also great props to use for a 6 month milestone session since baby is often sitting up at this point—either with a little support or on their own—and we used lots of those too.

A baby photography session is also the perfect time to get some family pictures! We made sure to get some family shots and baby parent portraits so that Everly and her parents can have photos of the whole family at this extra fun stage of babyhood. St. Cloud, MN Newborn Photographer | Waylon’s Newborn Session

Black and white, neutrals, bright colors…what’s your preference when it comes to newborn pictures? For Waylon’s newborn session, we chose to work with lots of neutrals. These work beautifully as home décor—especially when you’re planning to give framed photos to grandparents and other family members as gifts. Since grays, whites, and creams generally go with just about any color scheme, colors like these make it easy for the recipient to find a place on their walls where the new baby picture looks perfect!

Just because most of our session focused on neutrals though, didn’t mean we couldn’t incorporate a few brighter colors too. For our brothers portraits we picked out some nice autumn tones. Big brother was a little young to hold the new baby on his own, so we created some shots of the two of them next to each other instead. I’m sure they’re going to be best buddies!

Waylon had the best little nose! I had to get some closeup black and white shots of all those perfect details.

Baby boy did great, and even gave us some smiles while Mom and Dad were holding him for our family pics.

And he loved being swaddled, so we did plenty of wrapped poses to keep him calm and happy!

St. Cloud, MN Newborn Photographer | Newborn Session

Just look at that sweet sleepy smile! And those toes sticking out of the swaddle! Doesn’t get much cuter than that.

We chose a warm color palette for this newborn photography session. Some neutrals and blue-greens for our baby pictures, and then some nice fall colors for our newborn and family pictures.

This little guy was adorable and a real champ for us. We got to try him out with several different outfits and props since he was very cooperative and didn’t seem too bothered by anything we were doing. Hats, swaddles, buckets, snuggle poses—he was happy with all of it!

Big sister was such a cutie too! She was a little young to hold baby safely on her own, but we still got some great sibling and family photos. Baby’s safety is top priority, but there are plenty of ways to include toddler siblings in our images that don’t involve them actually holding their new little brother or sister. Just ask us for recommendations!

A very happy half-birthday to Miss Haley! This little cutie came to see me for her six month sitter session. Six months is such a fun time to photograph babies! A lot of times they’re sitting up on their own (although if your little one isn’t quite yet, don’t worry. It takes some kiddos a little longer to figure out that balance thing!) And they’re starting to be a lot more interested in interacting with people, which can make for some super cute baby pictures!

I was totally in love with this little round face! Are those cheeks not the most squishable things you ever saw in your life?

We did a couple of setups, including a boho one with lots of plants and a shabby chic setup with tons of flowers. Both so pretty!

Haley’s big brothers also joined in for part of our session. They clearly adore their little sister and were so good with her in the studio! I loved capturing their interactions.

I feel like most of the newborn sessions I’ve posted lately have been of baby girls. So I’m excited to share a few baby boy pics from Bryson’s newborn session!

This little dude was such a cutie and had the best expressions! Puckered lips, pouty lips, raised eyebrows, contented little smile, I’m-about-to-cry face. You name it, he gave us every single one! I loved capturing them all as he ran the emotional gamut in my St. Cloud, MN newborn photo studio. 😊

Mom wanted a variety of colors, so we did some neutral setups with gray and cream, and then also used blues, greens, and yellows. It added a really fun element to our baby photos while still keeping it low-key without anything super bright.

And we also made sure to get some mother and son shots. So sweet!

St. Cloud, MN Newborn Photographer | Soraya’s Session

What’s the best part of being a newborn photographer? Let’s be honest, there are a ton of bests, but one of them is that the magic never goes away! Even after years of photographing little ones, they still melt my heart. Every time I look at these photos from Soraya’s session they make me go, “Awww!” I know they’ll do the same for you!

Soraya had the sweetest little mouth and she loved puckering her lips and trying new expressions. I guess she knew it made us smile!

We had fun with lots of different props, and also made sure that a lot of Soraya’s newborn photography session was family-focused. There is nothing like the wonder of welcoming a new baby! We used both traditional parent baby portraits and more newborn-centered images with just mom and dad’s hands in the pictures, holding their little one and keeping her safe. So much love!

MN Cake Smash Photographer | Luka’s First Birthday Session

I had such a blast being the MN cake smash photographer for this handsome little man’s first birthday! Luka was such an easygoing baby, and the most adorable little birthday boy—I gushed over his curls the entire session.

I’m also totally jealous of this piano prop that mom and dad brought from home—I might just have to go out and buy something like it for my St. Cloud, MN photography studio! Dad is the musician of the family and actually has a recording studio at their house, which is so cool! We all thought Luka looked like a little Bruno Mars. :)

Mom requested no other props aside from the piano, so we kept things pretty minimalist. She liked the simple, clean look, which I also love! It made the photos from this first birthday photography session so timeless. I’m confident these photos will never go out of style!

Luka didn’t seem too hungry during the cake smash photography portion of our time together, but he was very excited about his bubble bath! There’s nothing like suds for good clean fun!
