St. Cloud, MN Baby and Family Photographer | Cori’s First Birthday Session

Although cake smashes are hands-down the most popular option when it comes to a first birthday session, they’re far from the only option! For Cori’s one year milestone, we decided to do an outdoor family photoshoot. It turned out to be so fun!

We brought just a couple of props for Cori’s one year baby pictures, but mostly we used the grass, fields, and winding path as our backdrop. One of the great things about outdoor family photos is how much kids love to be outside! They really can just relax, play, and explore—and we’ll grab some great shots along the way!

There’s no time like sunset for outdoor portraits. The light is a perfect warm glow at that time of day, and there aren’t any harsh contrasts of sun and shadow for us to worry about.

We did a few posed family portraits. For the most part though, this baby and family photography session was very relaxed. We just enjoyed the beautiful weather, the great company, and the experience of capturing memories.
