St. Cloud, MN Baby Photographer | Everly’s 6 Month Milestone Session

Okay, can we just draw some attention to the cheeks and the dimples going on here? Cutest thing ever! It was so much fun to do Everly’s 6 month milestone session with her and her parents. She was such a happy baby!

Loved the cute outfits mom and dad picked out—including a black one, which we hardly ever get to do for baby girls! This session took place in the summer, so it seemed fitting to use lots of plants and flowers in our setups. Bowls and swings are also great props to use for a 6 month milestone session since baby is often sitting up at this point—either with a little support or on their own—and we used lots of those too.

A baby photography session is also the perfect time to get some family pictures! We made sure to get some family shots and baby parent portraits so that Everly and her parents can have photos of the whole family at this extra fun stage of babyhood. St. Cloud, MN Baby Photographer | Brother and Sister Milestone Session

It isn’t too often that I get a brother and sister in together for a milestone session! This family wasn’t able to get newborn photos because baby was born early and mom was sick. But just as baby boy was turning 3 months, their daughter was getting ready to celebrate her third birthday, so it turned out to be the perfect time to get pictures!

These parents were a little worried about how the session would go. The little guy is a fussy baby and doesn’t tolerate much at a time. And although the camera loves their daughter she doesn’t feel the same way! Dad bribed her with the promise of ice fishing that weekend if she did well at the shoot. (Smart guy!) They’ve never had good, smiley photos of her, so they were thrilled with what a great job she did! They said she felt really comfortable in the studio—which I love to hear! But I’m sure Dad’s bribe helped too!

Sometimes all it takes is a little creativity—and quick camera work before baby gets fussy—to make a session go way more smoothly than you ever expected! St. Cloud, MN Baby Photographer | Haley’s Sitter Session | Six Months

A very happy half-birthday to Miss Haley! This little cutie came to see me for her six month sitter session. Six months is such a fun time to photograph babies! A lot of times they’re sitting up on their own (although if your little one isn’t quite yet, don’t worry. It takes some kiddos a little longer to figure out that balance thing!) And they’re starting to be a lot more interested in interacting with people, which can make for some super cute baby pictures!

I was totally in love with this little round face! Are those cheeks not the most squishable things you ever saw in your life?

We did a couple of setups, including a boho one with lots of plants and a shabby chic setup with tons of flowers. Both so pretty!

Haley’s big brothers also joined in for part of our session. They clearly adore their little sister and were so good with her in the studio! I loved capturing their interactions.

What’s the best part of being a newborn photographer? Let’s be honest, there are a ton of bests, but one of them is that the magic never goes away! Even after years of photographing little ones, they still melt my heart. Every time I look at these photos from Soraya’s session they make me go, “Awww!” I know they’ll do the same for you!

Soraya had the sweetest little mouth and she loved puckering her lips and trying new expressions. I guess she knew it made us smile!

We had fun with lots of different props, and also made sure that a lot of Soraya’s newborn photography session was family-focused. There is nothing like the wonder of welcoming a new baby! We used both traditional parent baby portraits and more newborn-centered images with just mom and dad’s hands in the pictures, holding their little one and keeping her safe. So much love!

St. Cloud, MN Newborn Photographer | Hadley’s Newborn Session

It doesn’t get more precious than this baby girl! Hadley and her parents were just the sweetest, and being their St. Cloud, MN newborn photographer was a delight!

Love the pretty color scheme we came up with for Hadley. Lots of lavender and white for her newborn portraits. And some lovely shades of rose from mom and dad’s outfits and our brick backdrop. We also had fun playing with textures. Wood, wicker, rope—and of course, all the soft yarns and fabrics. As a St. Cloud, MN newborn photographer, I like to keep my newborn studio stocked with tons of props and wraps. That way there’s something for everyone! And aside from color, using a variety of textures is one of the simplest ways to add depth and variety to your newborn session.

Hadley slept like an angel for most of her newborn session, but even when she woke up we were able to keep her calm and get some great shots. I kinda love when babies have some awake time in the studio because it gives us the chance to capture those beautiful blue-gray newborn eyes.

So glad I got to meet this adorable baby girl and her family!

Cake Smash Photoshoot | Minnesota Photographer

How cute is this little princess? We had a fantastic cake smash photoshoot with her, complete with all the trimmings. Plenty of flowers, tons of pink balloons, and a cake made just for her. What could be better?

When it comes to cake smashes, I’ve discovered that every baby is different. Some of them dive in face-first, and some of them need a lot of coaxing before they’ll even touch it. This little lady was somewhere in between. In the end, it doesn’t really matter how they react, because we’ll get some great first birthday pictures regardless! In this case, baby girl gave us some super cute frosting-face shots—and absolutely adorable smiles!

We also set some time aside during this cake smash photoshoot to get a few one year baby portraits. The birthday girl was irresistible in her pale peach outfit, and had fun checking out the different props. Such a happy little one!
