Mom and little one drove the hour to my newborn photo studio in St. Cloud, MN when baby Reese was ten days old. Usually babies this age are really sleepy (one of the reasons I recommend bringing them in during the first two weeks after birth), but Reese wasn’t very interested in sleeping. That’s okay! As a newborn photographer, I’ve learned to be flexible and just go with whatever baby feels like doing. In this case, Reese was still awesome in front of the camera, so we got some beautiful shots of her wide awake. Love those gorgeous newborn eyes and sweet baby expressions. And yes, we did snag a couple of sleepy shots too. It’s very rare that we can’t get baby to sleep just a little bit in my super comfy studio!

Reese was baby number three for this mom, and the first girl, so Mom really wanted something girly for her newborn pictures. We used lots of pinks and purples for our session, along with flowers and pretty headbands. Our setups gave us exactly the look we were going for, and our photos turned out beautifully.
