St. Cloud, MN Cake Smash Photographer | Beckett’s 1st Birthday Session | Lumberjack Theme

Little Beckett has been coming to the studio since he was just a bump! Yes, I photographed his mama’s maternity session. I swear he got cuter and cuter as the year went on. His mom, Kayla, was always a fan of our fun cake smash sets so we’ve been talking about a lumberjack-type theme for quite some time! See the moose in the background? That is actually Beckett’s stuffed animal!

Did you think these were actual pancakes? If you did, you were wrong! This is a cake with caramel running down the side. The “butter” is fondant! I found this real wooden cake stand at World Market and my preferred bakery topped it with the pancake cake. A cake fit for a king…I mean, lumberjack. Cakes are included in our cake smash sessions. Our partner bakery, which is a professional bakery, actually delivers cakes right to the studio. This ensures food safety, and well, I just don’t trust myself to drive your beautiful cakes around town right before your session! Between my creative ideas and our amazing bakery we always have the cutest sets and best cakes in town!

Beckett has always been an easy-going, happy baby. Who knew cake would make him even happier?!

He couldn’t quite get the cake in fast enough…

I think the tub confused him. He loved playing in the water, but at the same time, he was wondering where his cake ran off to! We like to give babies a splash after the smash. They love the bubbles, it makes for adorable photos, and you get to take home a clean baby!

Before the cake smash session we took some photos on our log bed prop. We decorated it with his blanket and his moose lovie because it matched the overall theme of the one year photo session. His bedroom at home just got redecorated in a lumberjack and red plaid theme. Kayla couldn’t wait to see these hanging in his newly decorated big-boy room.

Beckett, it was truly a joy to watch you grow over the past year! It’s bitter-sweet to graduate babies from my first year of photos baby plan. I don’t get to see “my” babies as often (every 3 months) anymore, but I’m also proud of the little people they’re becoming. I will see you again this fall, Beckett! Bring your big sis, Kylie, too!
